While it may seem counterintuitive, there have been many billion-dollar companies built on top of open source software over the last decade. In this session, we will analyze some of the business models that we have seen evolve over the last couple of decades, as well as studying existing successful companies such as Confluent, MongoDB, and more. We will also study what licenses are used by these companies, and how that has evolved over time as we transitioned to cloud computing.
